When you’re stalking barefoot runners, camouflage helps. “Some of them get kind of prancy when they notice you filming,” Peter Larson says. “They put on this notion of what they think barefoot running should be. It looks weird.” Larson, an evolutionary biologist at Saint Anselm College in New Hampshire who has been on the barefoot beat for two years now, is also a stickler about his timing. “You don’t want to catch them too early in a run, when they’re cold, or too late, when they’re tired.”

Kerry (49 years old) has only been attending small group workouts at The FIT for 6 months, but he hasn't wasted any time getting back into shape. Since April he has lost an impressive 15.4 lbs of body fat and gained 2.4 lbs of muscle! He is down 5.9% body fat to a much healthier 21.8%. The downside to his improved physique is that he had to purchase new clothes that actually fit, but that's what happens when you lose 2.25 inches off your abdomen in 6 months!

Anne (51 years old), Barb (54 years old), Carol (58 years old), Abby (27 years old), and Tet (45 years old- not shown) recently participated in the Men's Health Urbanathlon in Chicago. The 9+ mile race includes many unordinary obstacles and challenges such as climbing over and running through tires, climbing over military hurdles, scaling walls, and running stairs at Soldier Field. Despite this being the ladies' first attempt at the Urbanathlon they were more than able to hold their own against the other competitors. Anne and Carol took 1st place in their respective age groups, while Barb and Tet were able to finish in 3rdplace for their age groups. And Abby, while being in a very competitive age group, was still able to finish in the top 25% of well over 600 females.
